15.11.21 Ordering your prescription
We have had to take the decision to remove the telephone service for the prescription line with immediate effect. You can no longer leave messages to order prescriptions. We receive more than 150 requests every day on this particular line (on top of the online requests, emails, and patients handing requests in at reception)
The messages being left by some patients were not clear or they did not know the names of their medications resulting in a safety risk for the Practice. The time take to listen to these messages and process the request was not sustainable for the practice.
You can now order your prescriptions in any of the following ways:
1. Register for online services- link is on this website
2. Email the request to: firstname.lastname@example.org
3. Hand your request in at reception desk or post in the box outside the Practice
If you are over 70 years old or housebound then will be more than happy to take your request over the telephone
The Practice is carrying out multiple face to face appointments every day. We triage every telephone call before this is offered to ensure it is appropriate. This is allowing the GPs to treat more patients daily than pre-COVID times.
Our appointment booking system has changed- You will receive a call back from a GP on the same day you call. If you need a face to face examination the GP will arrange a suitable time for this to be done- usually on the same day
If you have a health concern of any kind that requires you to speak to a GP please call the practice any time between 8am and 3pm. We will deal with urgent calls only from 3pm until 5pm. You will have to provide the administration team with the details of your health concern to ensure you speak to the appropriate person. You will receive a call back from either a GP, Pharmacist or Advanced Nurse Practitioner. This call may result in a video consultation which will mean you need access to the internet or a mobile phone. (alternative arrangements can be arranged if you do NOT have access)
Please make sure you answer the call as we cannot continue to retry due to the volumes of calls
