Please ensure you order your prescription in time and  have enough medication to cover over the Bank Holiday.
Help and advice is available on NHS Lanarkshire’s website including Meet the Experts which offers a range of services that local healthcare professionals across Lanarkshire can provide.
NHS inform website also provides advice on self-care, while your local pharmacy is the first port of call for minor ailments.
This can also help free up appointments for those who need them with our Out of Hours’ service.

To seek advice for the appropriate healthcare support by ringing NHS 24 on 111 day or night. They will be able to direct you to the right NHS service, including the out of hours’ service where appropriate.

 Winter vaccine programme 2024

 The Winter Vaccination programme has commenced.

The Health Board will be contacting those patient groups who are eligible directly to attend a vaccination clinic.

Please note the vaccination programme is being provided through the Health Board and as such GP Surgeries are not involved in the programme.

Kooth

A new digital, confidential mental health support service has been launched to support young people and adults in North Lanarkshire.

Kooth has been commissioned to provide the free online mental health support service to all 10-to 18-year-olds, and those aged up to 26-years-old who are care experienced.

Kooth will work alongside our existing support services by providing a safe and anonymous online resource for young people that can be accessed through smart phones, tablets or computers. It features activities, self-help articles, live chats, discussion boards and is guided by a team of accredited counsellors and practitioners who can provide focused individual support. Users can also write their own daily journal and read helpful articles featuring personal experiences and tips.

The Kooth site is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week with individual support and counselling available 12-10pm on weekdays and 6-10pm on weekends, all year round.

There are no waiting lists or referrals, and young people can register anonymously at www.kooth.com.

Access to Work Mental Health Support Service

Able futures has been commissioned to deliver Access to Work Mental Health Support services across Scotland.   The service provides support to employees who may be experiencing mental health difficulties that impact on your work.

 

The aim of Able Futures is to help you enjoy more good days. Access to Work Mental Health Support Service is a wide range of first-class support from qualified health care professionals. The service is fast, flexible and, best of all, there is no charge to use this service.

 Don’t be embarrassed about asking for help with your mental health at work.   Able Futures is designed to help you get the help you need and talk to your employers about what they can do to help you have #MoreGoodDays at work Through Access to Work Mental Health Support Service you can talk to a health care professional within one working day of signing-up and provide up to 9 months support.  

 The support is built around you and your needs, and everything you discuss is confidential.

Access to Work Mental Health Support Service is available to those who can answer yes to the following questions:

 

  • Are you aged 16 or over?
  • Are you in/ about to start work?
  • Do you live in Great Britain?
  • Do you have mental health difficulties that impact upon your work

Prescriptions:

 At present we are fulfilling prescription requests within 72 hours

We review this on a weekly basis.

We would recommend registering with a pharmacy for any repeat medication.

There are pharmacies next to the surgery with a full complement of staff and offer free delivery service.

Some pharmacies have also increased their collections to 4-5 times per day from the practice to reduce patient waiting time for prescriptions.

 You can order from our online service - initially you require a key code to be sent to your email address to allow access to your repeat prescriptions.

There is a form within the reception area, we would require ID and you to fill out a form, enter your email address and we will process this same day.

 You will receive and email with a one off key code this will allow you access to your prescriptions and mark what repeat you require.

You can fill a paper request but we are trying our best to reduce paper usage, once you have signed up, requesting prescriptions should be less of an issue in future.

 You can order your prescription on 01698 75 50 52  this line is open Monday - Friday 8am-8pm  (excluding public holidays) This line should only be used for ordering your regular medication.

 Please do not order medication earlier than usual it will not be processed.

Appointments

Our doctors, on a daily basis, triage between 100 – 120 appointment bookings per day, our telephone waiting time is under strain on a daily basis.

We are prioritising patients daily and if clinically required our doctors are seeing patients face to face.

Please be assured if in the case of an emergency you and any family member will be seen.

We are recruiting new administration staff to help within our reception area.

There will be a period of grace where we will be training new members of staff, we are asking for your patience and support to staff members who are trying to help our patients each day.

 Travel Vaccinationsglobal air travel

We currently DO NOT offer a Travel advice clinic.

You will need to contact the Travel Clinic at University Hospital Monklands who will provide appropriate information:

If you are looking to acquire medication to delay your period or for any other travel related request (excluding travel vaccinations), you must contact the practice at least 4 weeks prior to your travel date.
