Appointments

Did you know that in the last 3 months more than 300 people failed to attend their appointment with the GP or Practice nurse

The practice is receiving extremely high numbers of calls at the moment- please try to be patient.  The staff will get to your call as soon as they possible can.

It is essential you call the practice if you no longer require an appointment.

Our appointment system operates as follows:

ROUTINE appointments (not urgent) are released at 8am every day for the following week.  For example if you phone at 8am on a Wednesday we will offer you an appointment on the following Wednesday.  We do not book appointments beyond 1 week due to the large number of patients who forget to cancel their appointments with us

If you call later than 8am then we may not have availability to offer you an appointment.  This means you will have to call back at 8am the next day.

If you feel your condition or concern cannot wait for a routine appointment or you have a concern regarding your medication then our on call GP is there to help.  You must provide your Name, date of birth and specific concern to the reception team who are fully trained.  They are asking questions on behalf of the GP and are bound by the same confidentiality rules as the GPs.  The On Call GP will call you back the same day.

The On Call GP is NOT available to authorise sick lines, letters etc please leave this information with the reception team who will ensure we get back to you within a reasonable timescale

We also offer extended hours appointments on a Monday.  These appointments are ideally suited to patients who are working and cannot come to the practice during normal opening times.  Please call the practice at any time to request this appointment.

Languageline

Telephone Interpreters are available if required. Please let our receptionist know in advance if you require this service.

Timekeeping

If you arrive late for your appointment you may not be seen. Persistent failing to attend may result in you being asked to find another GP. If you are unable to keep your appointment please notify us as soon as possible.
